Knitting tutorial for Beginners- 7. Stockinette Stitch

Stockinette stitch is likely the most popular stitch. Its known for its familiar repeating vvvvvv v’s. This happens when you alternate you rows with ‘knit’ and ‘purl’ and repeat. The character of this stitch is that it sort of wants to curl into itself.

i have a question when the pattern calls for lets say…st st 3 rows..does that mean k row,p row and do these two rows three times or is it
k,p,k…
If it says to knit 3 rows, you want to knit all across for three rows.. Not sure why you typed st twice. If it wasnt a mistake it might have called for you to grab two stitches and knit the two at once for three rows. That is a method to decrease your stitch number, making your fabric gradually smaller. Hope that makes sense.
