Annually, the comic book industry holds it convention. The goal is to present and share new products, stories, and artists. The name has even evolved and some refer to comic books as graphic novels. Regardless, these conventions have the ability to bring together people from all walks of life and age. However, the average age of a convention attendee is likely to be closer to thirty.

The types of comics they present for sale or display varies as well. There are the usual super hero comic books. There are also more dark and mysterious stories told in graphic style. Graphic style means picture and not the adult type. However, there is also a section on erotic comics.

The convention presenters have different options when it comes to their display. Some artists use enlarged photo images which are copies of their work to show off their artistry. Others might actually allow certain attendees to peruse later editions of their prized collection. Technology also has its place here. For an artist to be successful, he or she generally needs a great story line and an engrossing character. Then this has to be artistically rendered. The competition is fierce.
