Yes, I prefer the foundation crochet stitches instead of the chain. A chain can be used at any time instead of the foundation stitch. The foundation stitches will be more even with the rest of the crochet piece, where the chain may end up with holes at times.
Hi Teresa, I just finished this dress and I love it. I made a few changes. I put loops around the waist to add a ribbon. When I learn to email pictures I will send a photo to you. Thank you for the video, it was a very big help.
If you have FaceBook, you are welcome to join the page I have there and share your photos.
I would like to add you as a friend on Facebook, but after doing a search for your name, it turned up a more than 200 Teresa Richardson’s, how do I know which one is you. I would like to see more of the baby dresses, especially those with different skirt options. I need to make a dress for a winter baby, the Solomon’s Knot is a bit too open. I do LOVE the video’s, they arfe so helpful!
Beautiful.
I love this dress but I cannot crochet the Solomon`s knot. Do you have another stitch easier to crochet?
Hi tj, I think I can do it now. regards from Ecuador
You do not have to use the knot stitch. You can replace it with the single crochet if you want to.
I am glad that you got it. It may seem challenging at first but once you get the hang of it, you will not forget it.
when i first did this dress i could not do the knot either so i did a ch 4, sc in every 2st and the dress turned out so pretty!!! if i could get the picture up for it on here i would show it off but i dont know how to do just a picture
I do have a page on FaceBook if you would like to share a picture. In the search, type in The Art of Crochet by Teresa and the page will come up.
You are welcome to share your picture on my facebook page. The link is on my main channel page.
This takes real skill
Looks complicated… have never seen a dress made like that. How long does it take you to make one ?
Putting on the button and the edging and the armhols make it seem a little more work of course. Not sure i can do this one anytime soon even though i do a different stitch
This takes only a couple of hours.
can you tell me how many chainless crochet to make if i use a J hook
Hola TJ, he hecho 4 vestidos y no sabrìa decirte cuàl es el màs bonito. Lindo trabajo. dos hice con el solomons knot y dos con el punto V. Saludos
You can try doing 6 less for a start to see if that may be the size you are looking for.
