The fun, bright colors and cute chipboard flowers will be so cute in a girly room — which is exactly why I decided to make a shadow box for Vianka’s bedroom. Shadow boxes are a fun way to bring scrapbook products into your home décor. They are perfect for using dimensional embellishments and ephemera. The shadow box I used is just one I had laying around the house….you can purchase shadow boxes at most any craft store — or even Wal-Mart! Most of them don’t come divided like mine — but this project could easily adapt to a regular un-divided shadow box. Here are a few tricks and techniques that I used in my shadow box: • To make the large butterfly in the section with the photo I just traced a Jenni Bowlin chipboard butterfly on patterned paper and cut it out. By using the paper butterfly I have much more flexibility because paper is much easier to bend. I just bent my butterfly in the center and made the wings lift up off the page. I only glued the center of the butterfly down. This gives my project more dimension and makes that section of the shadow box really stand out. • I also layered several of the DeLovely chipboard flowers.
